A walk along the rooftops of Paris - CHANEL 2020 Spring-Summer Ready-to-Wear
Today we're watching cat walk shows and getting our fashion fix. So much talent and so much creativity - it feeds our soul. Not to mention so many clothes!!!!! And who doesn't love beautiful clothes. (sigh)
Today we chose to share the CHANEL 2020 Spring-Summer Ready-to-Wear fashion show - not necessarily because it was our favorite collection - but because in all honesty today we would love the be walking along the rooftops of Gay Paris.... (sigh again).
Also, CHANEL embodies the style of our Grandmother - who loved what she called "Smart Style'. Classic lines, classic outfits, tailored designs - with a very subtle touch of style and creative flair. (No-one does this look better than CHANEL.) So we were moved to share this video even more-so!
If nothing else - let's all pretend we're dressed beautifully and walking along the rooftops of Paris before making our way to the streets where we can meet for coffee and French baguettes and patisseries!!
Enjoy mes amis! (Our dear friends!) Love Rose and Violet xxx

Flower Horoscope for August
AUGUST'S BIRTH FLOWER
To all our wonderful friends who were born in the month of August, we’re sending our very best wishes for a Happy Birthday Month. No matter which day in August your actual birthday falls on, we think you should celebrate everything that makes YOU special for the entire month!
Most of you know that your birthstone is the Peridot, a lovely pale green gem that sparkles like a summer lake, but did you know that the flower traditionally associated with August is the Gladiolus? “Glads” are gorgeous, graceful long-stemmed beauties that come in rainbow of striking shades, and add a special splash of color to any garden.
Because of the shape of their leaves, their name, gladioli, comes from a Latin word that means sword. The flowers symbolize strength of character and moral integrity, honor and remembrance (which is why they are also the 40th wedding anniversary flower). Gladioli are sometimes called “sword lily,” meaning that the heart has been pierced with love. They symbolize faithfulness—never giving up—and even infatuation.
Their long stems of flower buds open from the bottom up, making them very long-lasting, and they come in a huge range of colors from oranges and reds to pastel blues, pinks and pale yellows. They are a must in any cut flower garden, so next growing season why not set aside a spot for your very own birth flower: the graceful gladiolus?
Another flower associated with August is the poppy. The red poppy signifies pleasure, the white poppy offers consolation, and the yellow poppy wishes wealth and success.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AUGUST BABIES!

Our new Fabric Collection with Riley Blake Designs!
We are beyond happy and excited to be launching our FIRST fabric collection with the amazing Riley Blake Designs!
For those of you that don't know our history, Miss Rose Sister Violet is a family company from Australia. Founded in 1973, in Adelaide, Australia, Miss Rose Sister Violet grew from a desire to provide beautiful designs that would give customers joy and items to treasure for years to come. From its humble roots as a brick and mortar store in Adelaide, Miss Rose Sister Violet has grown into an international brand with headquarters now in Adelaide, Australia, and California, USA. Customers the world over love Miss Rose Sister Violet for the joy it gives women and children through timeless and beautiful collections.
We have always been passionate about sewing, pattern making and fabrics. Our family has a long line of seamstresses and pattern makers – and our very first store in Adelaide sold the Liberty of London fabrics. Our first store was called Liberty Bookshop and we sold the full Liberty floral collection of fabrics, scarves, Liberty of London gift accessories and furnishing fabrics. It was a perfect pairing!
Our home studio is where we design and create all our collections and spend our days finding inspiration. We are constantly researching, drawing, building, sewing, dying fabrics, painting, making messes and attempting the impossible!
‘Rose & Violet’s Garden’ was born from our world adventures in treasure hunting; afternoons spent traipsing through Paris flea markets and hours upon hours of digging through baskets and boxes in antiques stores. Our most heartfelt passion has always and forever been flowers. The beauty in a cottage garden bouquet, a vintage teacup, an old floral curtain, or an antique embroidered cushion brings us such joy. That love of flowers, combined with our love of English cottage gardens and afternoon tea in old manor houses while reading books with tattered pages inspired us to create our own floral garden collection!
Today Miss Rose Sister Violet spends our time constantly traveling and finding adventures between both locations, Australia and America; exploring the world and discovering new treasures of inspiration. Our favorite travel destinations are France, Italy and England. When not traveling we can be found in our homes designing new collections, cooking, creating, reading, building, sewing, crafting, gardening and cuddling our dearly loved poodles Juniper and Carabella.
Enjoy our new fabric collection and we can't wait for the official launch later this year when it becomes available in stores worldwide!

Toy Land at Miss Rose Sister Violet
Without doubt, the creation of our Toy Collection has brought us one of our greatest joys. Not only has it always been a dream of ours to create toys and items of play for children, but to see the happiness it gives children when they hold one of our toys makes our hearts burst with happiness.
(CLICK HERE to view our darling toy collection)
So we thought we would introduce you to some of the key toy designers here at Miss Rose Sister Violet - and the "Quality Control Team" that tirelessly work behind the scenes to ensure our toys are PERFECT for children everywhere.
Meet Arabella, Liberty and Ruby! The three youngest family members in our company that help bring our toys to life!
They helped design every toy we have created and we can tell you honestly that each darling little creation would not be the same without their childlike wonder and expert knowledge. Every little detail has been laid on the table and discussed with them... "Should the swans have ballet slippers or shoes?"... "What color tutu should Flopsy Mopsy Bunny wear?".... "Should Sleepy Dora's eyes be open or closed?".... "Should Mirabella Mermaid have a sparkly crown? And what do you think her favorite drink would be? Raspberry Seaweed Soda or Sea Foam Spritz?".... "What color fabrics should we choose?".... "How cuddly should the animals be? And where do they live? In the woods or along the seaside?"....
Endless questions and brain storming... (all of course with bowls of fruit or yummy homemade cookies close by!)... endless sketching and drawing of faces and outfit ideas and names for each toy.
So you can see... that each toy we create... has been brought to life with total love and joy. Bit by bit... each little toy has been brought to life with smiles and joyful claps of hands and squeals of excitement. "Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!" the girls squeal - every time we make a decision. Each step a wave of love and joy - so that by the end of each design we have brought to life a toy with heart and soul and magic! And isn't that how it should be.... a world of magic for young and old.
Don't forget to stop by and visit our toys when you need... and we'll keep working away to create more little members to join the party.
With love always, Rose & Violet, (And don't forget Arabella, Liberty and Ruby!) xxxxxx
